New Augusta Athletics Update for Week of July 26th

Good Afternoon Fellow Phoenix!

Here is this week’s athletic update from New Augusta. We are going to take it day by day as it seems new information and changes happen daily. As I talked with our coaches about it is a good teaching opportunity for our athletes to learn how to focus and what they can control and not let what they can’t impact their performance or life.

A reminder that before your athlete can participate they will need to complete or update their Activity Registration and either have a physical on file from 2019-20 school year or complete a new physical for the 2020-21 year. Pike Medical on 79th and Michigan is open for appointments and walk-ins. If you have any issues with registration email the athletic office at

This week’s schedule is as follows:

Football Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 pm.

Boys and Girls Soccer Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 pm at Guion Creek Middle School

Volleyball 8th grade Monday and Wednesday from 6-8pm and 7th grade Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 pm- Drop off at Door 17

Boys Tennis will meet Monday through Thursday from 4-6pm. For those interested Girls Tennis is a spring sport and will not be meeting at this time.

Girls Cross Country will meet Tuesday from 7-8 pm and Wednesday and Thursday from 4-5 pm.

Boys Cross Country will begin working out Tuesday August 4th from 5:30-6:30 and Thursday August 6th at the same time.

The State of Indiana and the Pike Township administration has determined that only essential school personnel is permitted to attend these workouts/conditioning sessions. Please drop your athlete off at the designated area and return at end of the session to pick up your athletes. Parents should not gather in the parking lots or practice areas. This is for the safety of our whole school community.

If there are and changes that occur due to changing policy I will communicate how that will impact athletics.
