ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to participate in any athletic team tryout or practice session, a student's parent must first complete the online Activity Registration process. To start the process, click on the ACTIVITY REGISTRATION tab on the athletic home page. In addition to completing this process, the parent must submit a valid IHSAA physical examination form for the student. To be valid the form: (1)  must have an exam date no earlier than April 1, 2019, (2) must have the physician's mark indicating that the student is cleared for sports participation, and (3) must have the physician's address, signature, and license number. A link to the IHSAA form is under QUICK LINKS on the athletic home page. Those who plan to participate in a fall sport must have the online registration process completed, and the physical form turned in, at least one day before the first practice date or the first day of tryouts. Those who do not meet this requirement cannot attend any practice or tryout session until after the requirement is met. Once the physical form is received and added to a student's online activity registration, the parent will receive email notification, via the rschool system, of final clearance for the student's participation in a fall sport. Those needing to submit the physical form before school is in session may: mail it to the school (ATTN: Jean Lampert), fax it to 317-388-7786, scan and email to , or drop it off at the front office during summer office hours. Forms CANNOT be turned in to coaches. Prior to the start of their sports, coaches will be provided with a list of the names of those students who have completed the Activity Registration process (including submission of the physical form and who meet the academic standards described below. Those students whose names are not on the list cannot participate. Coaches will be provided updated lists as additional students register. Volleyball, soccer, and boys' tennis rosters will be finalized at the conclusion of tryouts for those sports. No one can join those teams once rosters are finalized. For cross country and football, students have until Friday, Aug. 9, to register, submit th physical form, and join.

Additionally, students must be academically  eligible. All incoming 6th graders are initially academically eligible. All 7th and 8th grade students must have achieved a 2018-2019 Quarter 4 GPA of at least 2.00 to be eligible for full participation. A Middle School Athletic Handbook link is posted under QUICK LINKS on the home page. The handbook provides greater detail about academic eligibility.

Practices start Monday, July 22. The teams will practice Monday - Thursday that week. NOTE: Pike High School will host its middle school football camp this week. I am awaiting confirmation that our practices this week will take place at Pike High School. The Pike camp would follow our practices so that all team members and our coaches have an opportunity to participate in the camp. Student participation in the camp is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended. There is a cost for the camp. More information can be found at:
